How Long Does it Take to Design a Custom Home?
Prior to the six to twelve-month building process is the design phase, and this can take about three months. From your initial consultation to the finalization of your home’s design, we are going to be collaborating back and forth with draftsmen and have three, five-hour meetings with you during this three-month window to nail down exactly what you want and create a functional blueprint.

These details dictate the dimensions of your home, so we want to have everything figured out before creating the blueprints.
When we meet with you and the architects, we talk about everything down to the half-inch to accommodate every detail. You don’t get this level of precision with many other “custom” home builders, and you are locked in with their process and materials. Here at Coastal Homes and Design, we are going to let you pick out whatever you want for your home and go with you to our local suppliers to purchase the materials.

During the first consultation, you will have the opportunity to come to our design center and share your vision for your dream home with us. This is the kick-off for the three-month design phase.
