- Size is one of the main factors we use to calculate building time. For a smaller custom home under 2,000 square feet, it can be built in as little as six months. If you are looking to build a single-story home like a rancher, you can expect to have your project completed in this time frame. Larger homes can take nine months to a year to complete.
Custom home budget
- A large factor that can add to building time is your budget. If you are spending more to have special features like shiplap incorporated, those additions are going to add on to the build time. Aside from size and budget, there is one main reason why Coastal Homes & Design projects take significantly longer, and that is that we purposely take our time.

- We pay close attention to detail when we construct a home, so you aren’t going to see a team of 80 workers framing your it out in one day. We have a small, close-knit team that works to construct your home. We also will not schedule contractors on top of each other like other builders do. Plumbers, electricians, and other subcontractors are spaced out over time, so they aren’t working over the top of one another. This allows each subcontractor to do their job efficiently and focus on the small details that can make or break the final product.
